Any thing that works

I'm 46 and have been getting cold sores since I was a little kid and have tried everything on the market, and every home remedy I've ever been told, and this is the only thing that helps. It seems to stop the progression and most of the discomfort, depending on how far you are along, in about two days, and the healing process is much faster. I apply it about five times a day. My wife and I always have some on hand. Just don't buy the pump, get the toothpaste type container, as the pump gives you way more than you need and this stuff is like gold.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Abreva cold sore cream is NOT effective

Submitted 1 year ago

By Joe

From Thornhill

I bought the Abreva cold sore cream and had 2 issues. Most importantly, this product is NOT very effective in terms of getting rid of a cold sore or stopping its progression. In addition, their pump breaks down regularly and is difficult to press down to get the cream out. You almost need a hammer to push the pump down. Once you do actually get it to press down, it squirts out all over the place. Poor design. Poor quality, both the product and casing.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Save Your Money

Everyone who gets them knows that cold sores are the worst and you just want them gone fast. I've tried abreva a handful of times over the years hoping it would help like it claims to. After a few tries as well as treating sores more successfully with other treatments, I realized it turns my sores into the most crusty, ulcerated mess I've ever experienced, and they leave a scar every. single. time. when I use it.

I have been prone to cold sores all my life and this product does not help one bit. I wash my hands throughly and the infected area. I apply the cream on a q-tip. WASTE OF MONEY.
