Love this sunscreen!
My favourite La Roche sunscreen was discontinued so I had to look for a new one that worked as a base/moisturizer that I would use in the morning after applying day cream and my foundation after. This formula was a slight adjustment for me but now, admittedly, I love it! It's thicker, but still spreads nicely and after a long day if I want to even my face out and have a bit of a glow I just apply it again overtop of my foundation or mix it together and reapply and it works great. So nice to have a product that both moisturizers and prevents sun damage!
the new formula ruined everything
I used this sunscreen on my face every single day for the past 10 years. Over the past couple of months, I've noticed the item is becoming increasingly difficult to find in stores as they gradually stop restocking it. I knew a formula change was coming, but I never imagined it would be this bad. First of all, the product now has a completely different look, which is a given, I believe. But most importantly, the new formula is now thicker, drier, and is drenched in a horrible odour. The previous formula was much more milky, and it left a perfect dewy finish on my incredibly dry skin. This new formula, on the other hand, has become so dry and sticky that it literally hurts my skin after a while, causing a very tight and uncomfortable feel. Once you put it on and go outside, you can genuinely smell the sunscreen on your face since it absurdly smells like you have French fry frying oil all over your face (I am assuming this is related to the changed medical ingredients list that has something to do with zinc). Overall, I have been on the hunt for a new sunscreen non-stop since this disaster came out...wish me luck. And yes, I am so passionate about the matter that I felt an obligation to leave a review for the first time in my life.
