I was really hoping to have a spray sunscreen that could be applied over my makeup, but this is just awful, with or without makeup. It is extremely oily, so oily that I can't even use it as a body sunscreen. Perhaps people with very dry skin would find it useful.

I bought this sunscreen and it is an interesting find. This sunscreen intrigued me because it's a semi-Canadian sunscreen that has the UVA circle on it (the UVA-PF is ≥ 16). It uses an American-style formulation however with it's UV filters unlike some other Canadian sunscreens Avene sells. Either way, it provides very high amounts of UVA protection when compared to some other sunscreens you can get at the drugstore. This sunscreen is very moisturizing and very runny. I found it to be a very soothing creme, but it is very glowy and luminous. I don't think this would work well if you have oily skin as you'll probably look like an oil-slick as the day progresses. That being said it leaves a nice glow on the body, but it does have an oily feel afterwards on your hands that doesn't leave immediately. I could see this being an issue and potentially staining certain fabrics especially if you apply generously (as you should and is recommended to get the labelled SPF and UVA-PF values). Personally, I find it to be too luminous for my skin even when compared to some other sunscreens I own. It might work okay on the body, but I have others that I like using more that don't have an immediate oily residue. It is also only 40-minutes water resistant, so it won't last as long as some other sunscreens if you will be swimming or sweating outdoors. Overall, I'd say this is an average sunscreen. I wish it was more natural or semi-matte and that it could have used some of the newer/more elegant UV filters we have in Canada like Bemotrizinol. It's an okay launch that I wish was more elegant, but I do respect the additional UVA testing done that Avene did.
