As a skincare junkie, I can say with quite a bit of certainty that I have tried almost every anti-aging product out there. I can also say that this product is truly 1 of a kind! Instead of using chemicals, this is a plant based retinol product. How does a plant based product compare to the real thin...g? The 30ml/1oz tube is clean and simple, just like the ingredients inside. It is both vegan and cruelty free and also free of sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrances and many other chemical ingredients that have no business on our faces. The formula pumps out a nice volume of a milky color, creamy serum that smells so wonderful and fresh! A very light lemon scent is noticeable and I almost smell a very faint beachy scent. The consistency is wonderful because it doesn't slip and slide all over the face/neck so it applies well. It glides over the skin and absorbs quite quickly. What you won't get from this is fire face. You know how your face burns and turns red with regular retinol products? The Phyto retinol (from plants) does not make you burn, tingle or even feel uncomfortable. Actually, you feel clean, refreshed and hydrated. You also wont get dry, flaky skin. I'm absolutely obsessed that this formula does everything Retinol does for the skin, but has none of the dreaded side effects. We no longer have to worry about our skin flaking off under our makeup each day! Another reason this is so much better than regular retinol is because regular retinol has always made my skin feel like a dried out sponge under a heat lamp. This formula is very moisturizing on it's own. I have been using this every night now for almost 4 weeks. I can definitely see and feel a positive difference in my skins texture. It is super smooth and I don't feel the (invisible) bumps that have always driven me nuts in the past. I've also noticed that my makeup isn't falling into my fine lines as it did before. I can see a difference without the makeup for sure, as I'm not seeing as many fine lines, and the deep wrinkles are getting better. But with makeup, I can definitely tell that there has been quite a bit of improvement! My skin is bright and as healthy looking as ever! I've even noticed a drastic change in a sun spot on my forehead that I've had for the last few years. It's almost completely gone! As a night serum, I'm completely in love with this formula! I'm also 100% obsessed with using it after I microneedle! It has the peptides, HA, and moisturizing properties that I need in a serum and because this is super strong, but gentle, it doesn't sting or burn! Actually, I look forward to slathering it on because it is so soothing. I'm telling you right now, if you microneedle, you NEED this! Overall, I'm just amazed at how far skincare has come! Now, instead of chemicals we are using plants and getting better results with no uncomfortable side effects. Bare Essentials nailed it with this formula! I can't wait to try the rest of the line! 10/10 Recommended!
