blackanddecker.com/First few uses are amazing. As you wash the plates, they become sticky and using this item becomes less enjoyable. After a few weeks the closing latch definitely breaks even with gentlest use. When you contact customer service they make you jump through a lot of hoops.

I'm happy with the grill plates - perfect for quesadillas, cooking bacon, etc. However the waffle maker doesn't work very well because about 95% of the time my waffles get so stuck to the plates that they are thrown in the garbage. The waffle maker worked good about 5 times and then the sticking issue happened. Any suggestions? Is it possible to purchase replacement plates? I want to like this product but am not satisfied with it as I bought it specifically for the waffle maker.

I replaced my old B&D waffle maker because the waffles were sticking, the coating had worn out. The new model cooks faster, improved temperature indicators, easier locks for the plates. It still offers compactness, the perfect size for a couple, and handsome appearance.
