My lips but better.

I haven't worn lipstick since my wedding 12 years ago. I tend to gravitate more towards tinted lip balms and lip gloss. I've also even tried LipSense and did enjoy its long lasting properties. But wearing lipstick is something I do on special occasions only. I was surprised that I was given the chan...ce to try out this Rouge Dior Lipstick in Shade 300 given to me for free from Influenster & Dior in exchange for my honest review. I wore this three different times: (1) during a lunch date with the hubby, (2) during work (I did have my mask on majority of the time), and (3) during a family day out. A few Pros - Love the overall look of the lipstick tube, so classic and elegant. - Goes on smoothly. - Mild powdery fragrant smell, not overpowering and I don't notice it anymore once I put it on. - Shade 300 is a perfect nude for my medium skin tone. It's my lip color but better. - Survived (meaning 90% of it stayed on my lips) a calamari dish and a burger. - Survived another meal, on a different day, comprised of Chinese egg noodles and fried rice. - Did not come off on the glass during mimosas! - Doesn't come off when I placed my lips on my hand. - I was impressed that although it felt dry on my lips, and despite my tendency to lick and rub my lips together, the Rouge Dior matte lipstick did not pill. - Stayed on for 8-12 hours, without re application, and the areas where it came off were on the inner part of my lower lips. Because it's my perfect nude, I didn't even notice the areas that came off until later on during make up removal time. Cons: - my complimentary lipstick arrived with a literal chip off the tip. But it was free and still worked. I Wouldn't be very happy if I received it this way if I paid full price for it. - during the winter, my lips get dry AF, so wearing this showed all of the lines on my lips. I did an overnight lip mask the day before I planned on wearing this lipstick again, and the lines were still there but not as noticeable. - May feel dry on the lips - although it went on smoothly, I didn't prefer the "dry" feeling throughout the day. Again, I do like lip balms and gloss more. To buy or not to buy? I'll continue to use this until it's gone, and may consider purchasing it (75% chance). This is my one and only matte lipstick in my collection of tinted lip balms and tinted lip glosses.
