How long should I wait to get a flu shot after my COVID-19 vaccine?

A yearly flu shot is still important during the pandemic. Here is what we know so far about the timing of your influenza and COVID-19 vaccines:

  • While research is ongoing about the timing of vaccines, CDC and Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) recommends that individuals 5 years of age and older may receive a flu shot on the same day as your COVID-19 vaccine. While there is potential for increased side effects from getting both vaccines at the same time, no safety issues have been identified.
  • Speak to your health care provider if you have concerns about the timing of your vaccinations.
