More cost efficient with all necessary features
The cheaper brother to the learning thermostat comes with all the basic features that most people would probably need - scheduling, preset modes, automatic home and away modes based on GPS, and even motion detection in case there are family members in your house that are not registered with your Goo...

Poor Design and Reliablility
I am a Pro Nest Installer and have had this installed for about a month now and its just so frustrating to use compared to all the other products that Google(Nest) has released in the past. The outer ring does not turn and relies on Capacitance to register a turn and only on 1 side of the unit... an...

store.google.com/This was hard to install as we have a newer furnace and air conditioner. But after our heating man installed (in a mere matter of minutes) I love it. The ability to change the temperature away from the actual unit, whether in another room or away makes it perfect. I love the ability to turn on the air or heat before I get home. Totally worth getting.

store.google.com/It took longer than expected to set it up. I had to hire an HVAC person to complete it. It has worked great since.

store.google.com/A few times it disconnects from Wi-Fi for no apparent reason and following the troubleshooting info takes you down a rabbit hole.

store.google.com/My nest thermostat gives me an error message at least once per week. I have to physically reset the thermostat to get it to connect to my app again. It's not great for controlling my thermostat while away from the house.
Easy to install and use

store.google.com/I had purchased a thermostat before the nest. I was going to have to pull a C wire. I found the Nest and took the other thermostat back. The Nest needed no modification to my system. It was easy to install. The programming is fairly easy. I'm still learning and tweaking in order to get the most efficiency from my system. I love how it communicates with my google home devices. It also has a cool modern look.

store.google.com/I can't get to work so I can say if it's good or not. But seeing I can't get it working... and don't count on support.. it seem more bad than good....especially if I have to call a pro

store.google.com/Very easy to install, the app walks you through the process step by step. Also, very easy to navigate through the menus. Not too many setting (which is nice), I especially like that I can control the thermostat anywhere as long as I have an internet connection. 10/10 would recommend this product.
