Had high hopes! Wish it worked for my skin...

Was gifted this Guerlain foundation from influenster in exchange for an honest review. I was super excited to try this! One of my girlfriend used to rave about her Guerlain foundation being amazing. The foundation came in a elegant glass bottle, with Guerlain's signature Terracotta design on the l...id. I have combination skin, oily in the T-zone but dry everywhere else. I applied the foundation using my beautyblender, after my usual skincare. First time I tired it with Guerlain Parure Gold 24K - Radiance Booster Perfection Primer, which was also gifted. Second time with my usual primer. Both times it applied on smoothly, but after it settled it didn't look good on my skin. Made my skin look dry and patchy. I was wondering why? I tired it again 2 more times with the same two primers. This time applying with my fingers instead. It ended up being a bit better but I still didn't like the finish on me. I love matte finish foundation but this one was just dry and powery looking. I saw online that they came out with a new kabuki foundation brush in the same collection. It saids it is made for all fluid foundation. Maybe it would work better if it was used in conjunction with the brush? Wish it came with the foundation so I could find out. In any case I also didn't love the floral parfum scent that lingers even after application. It was too overpowering. I do however love that it had 95% naturally delivered ingredients. And it feels really lightweight on the skin and is a long wear and didn't transfer. I had high hopes for the foundation, the color was a perfect match for my skintone too. But is just didn't work for my skin. It would probably be better on someone who has oily skin.
