I don't normally use leave-in hair products and beard balms due to naturally getting greasy hair by the end of day. Tried this product anyway. And I ended up not hating it. First off – typical Jack Black brand packaging and aesthetic. As much as I like the color theme and immediately know it's Jack ...Black – it doesn't really set it apart – and it looks like all the other products. If you have a lot of Jack Black products, you have to look at which one you're grabbing or get used to the little differences in the size of the bottle (if any) to make sure you're grabbing the right one. At any rate – back to this product. What's in it? Squalene, Jojoba, Snow Mushroom, Rosemary Leaf Oil, and Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. I never even heard of half of those – but it sounded like fine ingredients to me. I love that it's dermatologist tested, paraben free, cruelty free, and free of harsh sulfates. It's vegan, free of artificial colorants, safe for sensitive skin, and for the most part made in the USA. None of those are exactly dealbreakers, but nice to know. I used the product as the instructions said – after shampooing, massaged a small amount into clean hair and didn't rinse. I thought the smell was nice. Natural. Not too strong but has a little fragrance to it. May or may not be strong to other folks. Kind of organic if that makes sense. I did not expect the results from using this product. The product made me feel like there was nothing in my hair – but it styled and lightly held my hair exactly how I wanted. It made it look naturally styled. It was easy to restyle throughout the day. Wasn't too sticky. Didn't make my hair feel hard or like there was gel or product in it. Felt like it actually softened and made my hair look more healthy and moisturized right away. I can't speak to it helping hydrate and support the skin – but it didn't leave anything dry or flaky like a lot of other products do. I did try it on dry hair – it didn't work as well – and did make my hair feel/look greasy. But using it with damp hair yielded better results. A little blow-dryer to it helped as well. Less frizz and flyaways – and just overall seemed to strengthen and improve hair texture. All in all. Not bad. Will continue using and see if it helps my hair and skin; from the first few uses – it gives me hope!
