I bought the Closer when they first came out, love the closeness of the shave still today! The quality of the razor alone is amazing and add that to the shave, well worth the money spent!

Hi, I am impressed with many of the Jack Black products that I have purchased. The shampoo, face cleanser, and the moisturizers are exceptional. However, the razor and blades are average. I prefer a wider and slightly sharper blade.

I held off after JB stopped selling the cheaper razors for a couple years. I went with the deal subscriptions that we are bombarded with. Finally I gave in and bought this expensive razor and blades and the first time i dragged it across my face was ready to send it back, I thought it wasn't cutting and then it dawned on me.....it's that smooth! I just threw another one in my next shipment for my travel bag and no I didn't get a discount but my face will be happy.

It does not compare to the razor you discontinued. Please bring it back or at least the razor blades

I have been using another razor for a few years and it was ok. I decided to try The Closer and it is much better. The shave is better and the trim blade is much easier to use than others I have tried. Overall a great razor! I have been using for a couple of months and still can't believe how much better the shave is with The Closer!

Shaving is a very personal experience and this is my opinion on this razor. Also, FYI, I use a double edge safety razor on my face. I use this razor for my head. I have used the previous generation Jack Black razor until it was discontinued and other razors before that. Compared to those razors, this leaves my skin blemish-free, but it's not as close as the other razors. I used this razor for weeks trying to figure it out because you do have to hold it at a very different angle than the previous model. It almost feels like you have to make the lubricating strip your target, not the face of the blade. Also, I noticed a marked difference making one single long drag with this razor rather than shorter swipes like you would do with a double edge safety razor. I think I've gotten it to the best I can at this point which is not as close as the previous model, but definitely leaves my skin with less razor burn. However, the major problem is the handle for two reasons - even though it has a knurled surface and rubber/plastic insert, I still drop it EVERY DAY even though I rinse it well. I can't remember dropping the old one. Secondly, its shaped completely round so you don't know the orientation of the blade by feel like the old one. You have to look at it. Not good for the back of my head. So, in conclusion, I feel like they solved the problems of the old one by creating new problems. Maybe they should keep the blade and change the handle. I will still use it though and I'm enjoying the reduction in razor burn.

Smoothness, design, weight, color; no question its a superior shaving razor above the rest especially with the beard lube!
