The perfect little device for books!
I bought my Clara Colour the day it dropped in stores, and I have loved it every day since! It's the perfect size for on the go, it fits in my purses and even in my back pocket. It's so lightweight and performs really well.

As someone transitioning from an older Kindle, the Kobo Clara Color feels like a refreshing step forward. It retains the simplicity you'd want in an e-reader, but for a slight price increase over the black-and-white e-ink model, you get worthwhile improvements. The color display, while not essential, is a nice addition, and the upgraded processor ensures smoother performance. The lighting is a standout feature—easy on the eyes during night reading—and the battery life is phenomenal. I also appreciate the thoughtful design, like the power button placement on the back. If you're considering an upgrade or starting out with an e-reader, the Clara Color makes a strong case for itself.
Another great Kobo!
We bought 2 of these for my kids, age 9 and 12. They love the colour e-ink since they enjoy reading comics/graphic novels. I love that they can borrow e-books from the library themselves right on their Kobo. My son's Clara case had a small piece of plastic break off but the Kobo is fine, so the case does a good job protecting it. My husband and I have owned 3 different Kobo models since 2008, only upgrading for newer features (we now each have a Kobo Nia). We have never had a Kobo break or stop working. I bring my Kobo almost everywhere in my purse or backpack and use it every day.
Would not buy
Extremely disappointed with Kobo, this device, and their customer service team. Kobo advertises this device as being a portable e-reader that you can easily take with you on the go. I have had my Kobo Clara for a month and it stopped working. When contacting customer service, they determined that it was no longer responsive because of physical damage and would not honour the warranty. My Clara has a case nor has it ever been dropped. They said this damage came from being in a backpack or a purse. I guess if you get this device, it must remain beside your bedside table and go nowhere.
