You apply a thin layer to an already wetted down neck and face. Shave as usual and rinse. My skin feels amazing after I use this. It's so soft and not oily or greasy at all. There's a mild scent that I liked. I didn't really notice a lot of cooling but that could just be me. I really liked it though.
