DIRECTIONS: 1. Remove stopper. Using only warm tap water (below 50° C), fill bottle until three-quarters full. NEVER FILL WITH HOT OR BOILING WATER (e.g., heated in a kettle or on a stove). NEVER HEAT BOTTLE IN A MICROWAVE OR OVEN. NEVER overfill (three-quarters only). 2. To keep original shape of bottle and to prevent expansion, rest bottle on a flat surface so that water appears at neck before securing stopper tightly. This also removes excess hot air in bottle. 3. Before use, test for leakage by turning bottle upside down. 4. Always wrap a soft cloth around bottle before applying to skin. NEVER apply bottle directly to skin. CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Carefully examine bottle before each use. After use, drain completely and dry upside down. Store with stopper removed, in a cool, dry, dark place. Keep away from sharp objects and exposure to sunlight.

I would give this product zero if I could. Upon opening the product was slick with oil and the product reeks of a toxic chemical factory. Yes, lets put this heated product on our skin to let all those chemicals absorb into our skin. I ended up washing it about 6 times to get rid of the oil and the smell, but still put it in a plastic bag to cut down the smell. I am going on Amazon to order a rubber water bottle from a German manufacturer. Life brand should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for supporting the maker of this product.
not good, needs better gasket. i screw the lid on so tight.. it still leaks. (and yes i know how to use a screw) . but yes works well as both a hot water bottle in the winter and a cold water bottle in the warm summers. but needs a better gasket. rubber ring or something. i fashioned my own for the seal, but ... thank you for keeping my parts warm.
This is the second water bottle that I have purchased in the last 3 months. The Life Brand is of inferior quality. The first hot water bottle leaked from the cap as did the second one. Cheap materials and design....plastic cap screws into a plastic neck. Rubbish quality. Don't waste your money.
Started leaking after the second use. The quality is quite poor. On closer inspection, I noticed the cap doesn't screw on properly and skips the thread. Very disappointing.
I have purchased about 5 of these hoping I was having bad luck receiving a odd lemon. After having 5 of these, they all have the same problem. Use at your own Risk should be on the front package label! These look identical to older models from many years back (~20), but not same quality. Maybe a one time use product or use with cold water. A great cold water bottle.
I had the same life brand hot water bottle for years and the seal finally went out on it. Bought a new one and within 2-3 uses, this seal busted. I don't lay on it, it sits beside me in my bed and I put it in the baby bassinet while feeding so he comes back to a warm bed…no pressure from anyone on it ever. Super disappointed.

As I said it is years and years old and it has not leaked whatsoever so I might just be lucky but I'm having a hard time seeing all these bad reviews.
Used this 3x and all 3 it leaked after it started to cool. I had that plug super tight, didn't help.
My life brand hot water bottle just exploded. Not sure how old it is as I can't find a expiry date. Pretty scary!

Years ago I purchased a Life brand hot water bottle, and it was great. I used it on a regular basis for years, and it never failed. I noticed the rubber getting old, so I replaced it and another with a couple of new Life brand hot water bottles. Shortly after, as in one or two uses, one of the new ones leaked during the night through. As I had some partial body weight on it, it completely drained and soaked my bed. On inspecting that hot water bottle, I noticed that the rubber had separated from the plastic threading the plug threads into. This was where it was leaking from. I figured this was an isolated incident, and since the old one had worked so well and the rubber on the new ones was decent quality, I purchased another. (I didn't bother tracking down my receipt at that time.) Shortly afterwards another hot water bottle failed. It had the same issue, but this time only leaked a little. I tracked down my old reciept and returned the two leaking hot water bottles for new ones. Before trying them out, I checked how well the rubber was sealed to the plastic threads. They were both faulty as you can see from the pictures accompanying this review. So that is five hot water bottles acquired and four of them were faulty. I don't know how long I can trust the last one as there seems to be some give there too. I'm not pressing my luck. Until there is a recall or some change in the manufacturing process, do not get these.
