ADULTS AND CHILDREN 13 YEARS AND OLDER: Mix 1 rounded teaspoon (5.95 g) with 1 glass (250 mL) of cold liquid up to a maximum 3 times per day. Children 6-12 years: mix 1/2 sdult dose (2.98g) with 1 glass (250 ml) of liquid up to a maximum of 3 tmes per day. Directions: Stir briskly in the dosage level given and drink immediately. Drink an additional (250 mL) full glass of liquid with each dose. Maintain adequate fluid intake. CHILDREN 6 TO 12 YEARS: Mix ½ adult dose (3.5g) with 1 glass (250 mL) of cold liquid up to a maximum 3 times per day. Stir briskly and drink immediately. Drink a full glass (250 mL) of liquid with each dose. Maintain adequate fluid intake. Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications. Effects observed 12 – 24 hours after first dose, and may take 2 – 3 days. Minimum daily dose may be increased, up to the maximum daily dose, until desired effect is obtained. Adults only: to lower cholesterol levels, use for a minimum of 8 weeks to see beneficial effects. Adults only for appetite suppression: 2 rounded teaspoons (14.0 g) 1 – 3 times daily. For appetite suppression, take before meal, mix into a 250 mL glass of cool liquid up to a maximum 3 times daily. Stir briskly and drink immediately. Maintain adequate fluid intake. Do not use if security seal under cap is broken or mising. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide); you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever (as these could be signs of abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the oesophagus and/or the superior opening of the stomach (cardia), potential or existing intestinal blockage, paralysis of the intestine, megacolon, faecal impaction, inflamed bowel or appendicitis. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days. Consult a health care practitioner immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product. Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate. Do not use if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product. Hypersensitivity, such as allergy, has been known to occur following inhaled and/or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating. Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Acesulfame Potassium, Aspartame, Citric acid, FD&C Red No. 40, Malic acid, Maltodextrin, Pink Lemonade Flavour, Sorbitol, Sunset Yellow. Suitable for sodium restricted diets. Each 5.95g dose contains 6.7 mg of sodium.
