Better formula!
Glad that Shoppers brought this back with a formula that matches the pricier Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. Previous Life Brand version of this had a different detergent that gave a slight flowery smell. Prefer this new fragrance-free product.

Watered down and useless
This product used to be a pretty good value but has now been watered down to the point of being useless and ineffective. The last bottle I purchased the product is so thin I can't even get it from my hands to my face. Sadly, yet another example of Loblaws putting shareholders ahead of consumers and ...

My face is dirty
Reviewed at
realcanadiansuperstore.ca/enAs an outdoorsy person, my face gets really dirtyall the time. I need a very good cleanser. One day I ran out of the major brands so I decided to try this. It's not really working. I wash my face with this three times but I'm still dirty. I applied the toner with cotton pad but it's all yellow. Please, make your formula more concentrated. I'm happy to pay for it. By the way I am a loyal fan of life and PC brands.
50-something skin
I don't need (or want!) bells and whistles in my cleansers. I want inexpensive, fragrance-free, effective. I use this one in the summers and it hits every note. In the cold, dry Canadian winters, I swap it for a richer, cream cleanser.
Clean
This stuff is gentle on my aging skin. I can remove makeup residue and rinse with little effort. Doesn't dryout my skin either. I guess if you need expensive cleansers then don't buy it but if you just want simple clean this is for you.
Not gentle or effective for me
Doesn't remove makeup and made my skin burn.
Watered down and useless
This product used to be a pretty good value but has now been watered down to the point of being useless and ineffective. The last bottle I purchased the product is so thin I can't even get it from my hands to my face. Sadly, yet another example of Loblaws putting shareholders ahead of consumers and shorting us in favour of their own profit. Do yourself a favor and watch for a sale on Cetaphil and then stock up. I just got 2 bottles of the Cetaphil product for slightly more than the cost of this one and it is, you know, like soap and not water.
Definitely not gentle on one's skin!
I got this cleanser few weeks ago because I thought it was reasonably priced and hoping it was the equivalent quality of the Cetaphil cleanser. It says "for sensitive skin" and "gentle cleanser" but the exact opposite happened for me unfortunately...My skin had been breaking out in pimples ever since, my skin gets very dry and looks uneven and rough. I would not recommend this product and cleanser at all.
New formula?
I've been using store brand versions of Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for at least 20 years. Bought new Life Brand gentle skin cleanser last week. Immediately noticed it's not the same as old product. Checked ingredients with old bottle and found extra ingredient "phenoxyethanol". It's a preservative. The new formula is not as soothing. Very disappointing. Also it's imported from somewhere. Can't return as I've thrown out the receipt.
smells of alcohol
Have purchased many times in past so was confused when this smelled like rubbing alcohol. Looked at back and second ingredient is now isopropyl alcohol. I'm not going to put this on my face anymore and will definitely be more suspicious of life brand products in future.
New formula: #2 ingredient is now isopropyl alcohol
So disappointed: harsh on skin and smells like hand sanitizer. Which makes sense now that the #2 ingredient is isopropyl alcohol.
Best skin in a long time
Tried this cleanser after reading the limited ingredient list. Best decision I ever made for my breakout skin. My skin is soft, clean and moisturized and finally clear!
