Oral B Pro-Health Toothbrush Combo Pack

I'm not sure what to think about this product. I didn't expect it to do a great job when I first saw it and I wasn't sure it was doing its job when I started using it. I gave one toothbrush to my mom and she mentioned that it felt like it wasn't cleaning very well, and once I got around to using the... other one I couldn't help but feel the same way. I do have braces so that may be a factor, but that's not the case for my mom. In the photo provided, you can see the difference between an average toothbrush and this one. First of all, I could do without the funky colours. The colour is irrelevant, but still a bit off-putting. Secondly, the brush area is much shorter than the average toothbrush so you're brushing less at once than usual. The brush is slightly longer, too, so there's no reason to have ALL THAT HANDLE and less brushing area. The bristles are also shorter, less plasticy (the material is softer but I feel it's less effective), and over time (just a couple of weeks) have started to 'fray'. It's not that the individual bristles are slitting, but in each 'bunch' they are beginning to part - much like the outside perimeter of a usual toothbrush after a few months in. My teeth do look a bit nicer after brushing, and I can't help but wonder if it's good at polishing (it does say it's good for plaque, but I haven't noticed any difference when I come to clean it up afterwards), but for brushing it doesn't feel as sturdy even though the bristles are densely packed together. The brush also doesn't come with a tongue scraper on the back, which is pretty much standard now. Obviously one on the back of a toothbrush isn't as good as a separate one, but to not have one at all - and instead to have the toothbrush be almost entirely a handle (still can't get over how much smaller the brushing area is) - is ridiculous. I'll still continue to use this brush for the usual 3 month length, but I'm really not sure it's even going to last that long (it feels far too soft and the bristles fraying like they are makes it even less effective). Ultimately, I don't believe this is a worthwhile product and will continue to use the average cheap toothbrush over this kind.
