The gritty particles" are for exfoliation. You do know you need to exfoliate your lips, right? ESPECIALLY if you have literal flakes on them! It's dead skin. It will not heal itself. Exfoliating will encourage new cell growth. This is paramount! Love the stuff- dry Minnesota winters on my already dry skin turn me into an alligator soon as October comes. Give this a chance. No way you won't love it.

I have horribly chapped lips and have tried everything to relieve them. I used this three times on the first day I received Drink Up for lips and the next day my lips were healed. It's the very best lip product there is. I don't know why there are negative reviews, perhaps the writers of these reviews didn't give it a fair chance. BUY THIS- You're welcome.

This is an absolutely horrible product. I expected something that would be creamy and nourishing for my dry lips. Instead there are gritty particles in it and the "nourishing" is sadly lacking. Would've returned it if the two different agents I chatted with were helpful and clear in their communications. Sadly, they were not and I gave up after the 2nd attempt. Definitely not up to the quality of other excellent Origins products.

Smells great. Feels good to the touch but did not help lips.

This lip butter is very uncomfortable to use. It does not go on like butter At All, because it's very grainy so it feels like you're just rubbing sand on your lips! ! ! I would not buy this one again. . .

The smell and intgredients are great, but this lip butter does not help. It is not very butterly, and dries too soon leaving lips as chapped they were. You should really test and improve this product onwards, because I am not the only disappointed one, I reckon. I love many other our products, especially masks.

I am always looking for a good lip balm/treatment for my dry lips. This felt great when I first put it on, but within two hours, my lips were already dry and uncomfortable. This probably works great for people who only put lip balm on in the morning and don't need it throughout the day. After trying it, maybe five or six times, I tossed it. Waste of $.

I buy multiple different lines from origins and tell everyone who will listen how much I love their products, this was an absolute let down and waste of money! I bought 2, one for myself and one for my daughter. I was really excited because we both deal with dry lips. Texture was terrible, grainy, disappears almost instantly and somehow manages to make your lips feel dryer after use. Super disappointing

I am not a fan of this lip butter. It is grainy and feels awful on my lips—as if it's sitting on top rather than moisturizing. Makes my lips feel dryer and kind tight. Also it disappears very fast…within 10-15 minutes it's as if I put nothing on my lips.
