Great Smell, Not So Great Performance

When I found out that part of the Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 line was going to be a BB Crème for my hair, I was quite intrigued because I've never tried anything like it on my hair. I'm always on the lookout for any products that can tame my curly mane while helping to maintain the health of my wais...t length hair, and this seemed like just that. This product claims to be a "10 in 1 multi-tasker that repairs, smoothes, boots shine, etc." With such high claims including being, "great for all hair types that are prone to manageability concerns" and being "gentle enough for chemically treated or coloured hair," I thought I hit the jackpot. This product appealed to me 110% because not only would it benefit my colour treated hair, but it was said to help with manageability which I could use any day. I was excited to try it out and knew I would definitely put it to the test not only because I have very long hair, but because I have naturally curly hair as well. Initially, I applied the cream to my towel dried hair. It took four pumps to evenly distribute the product throughout my hair. The product is not sticky or greasy which I like and smells absolutely delicious. I enjoyed how the scent lingered not only for a few hours, but for days following until I washed my hair again. Unfortunately, this product did not live up to it's claims. Though I did notice that my hair felt softer to the touch, I did not notice any added shine, smoothness, frizz control, manageability, or tamed flyaways when using it on my natural curly hair. However, after using this product solo after the accompanying shampoo and conditioner, I decided to use it in addition to a hair mousse just to see how it would fare. Though I wasn't pleased with this product initially, when I use it with a mousse, I found that the mousse controls the frizz and defines my curls nicely while the BB Crème still keeps my hair very soft and fragrant. I will continue to use this Crème in my hair routine in addition to the mousse since I do enjoy the softness and scent, and do hope to see results regarding its "repair for rough hair, strength against damage, and heat protection" claims. I have only been using the product for a couple of weeks and I think further use will be necessary to see if these claims hold true. In all, I wouldn't recommend this product to someone with curly hair as it doesn't help to define the curls, or tame flyaways/frizziness (in my experience). I did try this product on my hair after I had flat ironed it and noticed a lot more visible shine, so I do think that this product might be more beneficial to those with naturally straight hair.
