I have bought this eyeliner exclusively for several years. Its the best eyeliner out there when it works. I buy 3 or more at a time, and deal with the breakage and loss because I liked it so much. This entire year every one of them has broken after just a few uses, the last one I opened the tip broke off the first time I used it. You may get one or 2 max uses per sharpening, but the tip is going to break off and you are going to waste the whole thing trying to get it back out and sharpened every time you use it ... and there is not much in there to begin with. Its a sad shame they cant fix this design flaw, does anyone at this company use this?? it is not possible for them to not know with all of these terrible reviews or any minimal usage. I have spent well over 1K buying these things online and at various stores and I am done. I found the Bobbie Brown Kajal liner and that is my new go to. You have to stay at it to keep the point as fine,but that is true for this one as well. Its fine enough and it NEVER breaks. It goes on very smooth and stays all day and night. Very disappointing Smashbox cant fix this, and its aggravating that they keep selling this junk - not one good one out of the last 12 or so i bought. Its too thin and not sticky enough to withstand the resistance of the use, which should be a simple fix?

I used to buy this eyeliner consistently. I decided to try it again after 3 years. I ordered 2 Navy from Ulta during their sale. I am so disappointed because neither of them are working. They do not advance at all. So basically an expensive eyeliner for only a few uses. You need to look into this major flaw.

I used this product for several years. It was my favorite. However, in the last few months, every time I buy this eyeliner it stops working after a couple clicks. This last time I bought it, the eyeliner came out and it was actually made of some garbage material which hurt my eye so much….it felt like sharp metal when I tried to apply it. I took it back to Shoppers Drug Mart, but the replacement she tried to give me was also broken so I gave up. Looking for a new eyeliner to replace this. Very sad whatever has happened to this brand.

I have been using these eyeliners for years and used to love them. I still love the colors -French Navy, Violetta, and Penny Lane. I tend to order all 3 colors at once. The last time I ordered (Oct 2025), they were a huge disappointment. The French Navy was broken in so many places that the color stick simply fell out of the pencil after a few weeks of use. The Violetta would not "click up" properly. I managed to make it work for a short while until the color stick broke and I couldn't advance what remained in the pencil. Penny Lane is also not clicking up properly but so far I can make it advance enough to use. I want to replace these but am hesitant because I don't know if the issue has been resolved. I even tried calling the customer service number provided to others in this review thread and simply found myself in an automated hold loop that never connected.

I've been using this eyeliner for years. I typically will stock up when I purchase my makeup, and typically this pencil will last a while. The black and brown pencils have proven to stay "fresh" if I haven't opened the package. The navy failed me. Completely dry and unusable. Not sure if that is how the navy liner is all the time, or if I happened to get a dud. Either way, I can't afford to experiment with a new color again.

3D galaxy was amazing! I got compliments every time I wore it and I can't find anything that compares to it. Bring back 3D GALAXY!!!

This was my go-to, always stocked up on sales eyeliner until recently. The last handful I ordered from Ulta and/or Smashbox have all broken within the first 2 weeks of using them. They used to last around 4-5, even 6 weeks. Any I've bought since Summer of 2024 have all broken and were no longer useable. Because I stock up, I am always past the point of return, which has never been a problem prior. I'm so sad because this was my favorite eyeliner for YEARS and for the price they should not last only 1-2 weeks! Now I'm on the search for a new liner!

I am giving this a low rating because of the current colors. I have been using the Smashbox Always Sharp eyeliner for several years and absolutely loved it. I loved how easy it is to apply and that it is always sharp without having to fool around with a messy manual sharpener. AND I loved the colors 3D Sparks and 3D Billionaire. They were the most awesome colors with sparkles in them. I do not like the current available colors, there is nothing comparable to what I was using and what I loved. So I will have to search for an eyeliner from another company. Please, please, please bring back 3D Sparks and\or 3D Billionaire!

I don't know why 3D Galaxy is discontinued. That's such a pretty sparkling on a soft black tone. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!

I have been purchasing this eyeliner ever since it came out and always loved it. But the last 2 times I bought it the eyeliner broke off and I cannot get the eyeliner to "roll" up so they are both unusable. The 2nd eyeliner broke at first use. Seems like the quality of the product is not what it used to be. Very disappointing and too expensive for such a poor product. I will not buy again. Giving product one star only because website will not accept see stars.
